Day 1: Boston
Passengers arriving into Boston Logan will transfer via Shuttle Van to the Doubletree Club Hotel Boston Bayside.
The Tour Escort will meet guests during selected hours at the TourMappers Hospitality Desk.
Evening on own. Tour escort will assist with recommendations.
Day 2: Boston
This morning, passengers embark on an included city tour of Boston and Cambridge. Travel through Boston’s Back Bay, renowned for its elegant architecture. Follow the Freedom Trail to view historic sites and visit Cambridge, famous for its universities, MIT and Harvard.
Tour will conclude at the hotel or passengers will have the option to disembark at Quincy Marketplace.
Afternoon and evening on own. Coach will be available in the evening to transfer passengers to downtown for dining and return.
Day 3: Boston - Kennebunkport - Portland - North Conway, NH (179 mi / 288 km)
Depart Boston and travel north into Maine. Tour picturesque Kennebunkport and see such sites as the Wedding Cake House and the summer home of George H.W. Bush. En route to Portland visit the Portland Head Light, a popular lighthouse landmark on Cape Elizabeth.
Tour downtown Portland and enjoy time on own in the Old Port section of the city for lunch.
Then, travel through the beautiful Sebago Lakes region of Maine and into New Hampshire. Overnight at the North Conway Grand Hotel for 2 nights.
Day 4: N. Conway - Franconia Notch - Mt. Washington - N. Conway (104 mi / 167 km)
This morning passengers will tour through Franconia Notch, the major mountain pass through New Hampshire’s White Mountains and along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway.
Passengers who have purchased the option package will climb to the summit of Mt Washington aboard the Mt. Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain-climbing cog.
Day 5: North Conway - Woodstock - Rutland, VT (171 mi / 275 km)
Depart North Conway and travel through New Hampshire winding roads to Quechee Gorge, “New England’s Little Grand Canyon”. Spend time in Woodstock, a quintessential New England village. Then continue through Killington into Rutland. The next two nights will be at the Holiday Inn, Rutland.
Day 6: Rutland - Shelburne - Stowe - Rutland (186 mi / 300 km)
Head north to Shelburne and visit the Shelburne Museum. Located in Vermont's scenic Lake Champlain Valley, Shelburne Museum is one of the nation's most diverse and unconventional museums of art and Americana.
This afternoon, spend time in the charming village of Stowe at the foot of Mt. Mansfield before returning to Rutland.
Day 7: Rutland - Williamstown - Sturbridge, MA (172 miles / 277 km)
Traveling through Vermont’s charming villages and into Williamstown. This resort town is home to Williams College, the Clark Art Institute, and the Williamstown Theater Festival.
Continue into Sturbridge for the next 2 nights at the Sturbridge Host.
Those who have purchased the options package will visit Old Sturbridge Village. Set on 200 acres, this living history museum depicts New England rural life in the early 1800’s.
Day 8: Sturbridge - Lenox – Stockbridge - Sturbridge (158 mi / 254 km)
Today, visit the Berkshires and the picturesque towns of Lenox and Stockbridge. In Lenox, visit Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony. Stockbridge was Norman Rockwell’s canvas. Those who have purchased the options package will be able to tour the noteworthy Rockwell Museum.
Day 9: Sturbridge - Newport - Mystic, CT (136 mi / 219 km)
Depart Sturbridge for Newport, RI. Drive the 10-mile Ocean Drive and “Millionaire’s Row” to view the opulent homes of the Gilded Age. Those who have purchased the options package will tour the Breakers, once the home of the Vanderbilt family.
Time will be spent in Old Town and the old Brick Marketplace before continuing to Mystic, CT for the next 2 nights at the Comfort Inn.
Day 10: Mystic - Cape Cod - Mystic (169 mi / 272 km)
Cross the Bourne Bridge to this popular resort destination. Travel along the Cape Cod National Seashore to view charming villages and spectacular coastal scenery. Visit the site of Marconi Station, where the first wireless telegraph signals were sent across the Atlantic to England.
Spend time in Provincetown, the colorful artisan community at the tip of Cape Cod before returning to Mystic.
Day 11: Mystic – Plymouth – Boston (150 mi / 241 km)
Depart Mystic for Plymouth, MA, “America’s hometown”. See Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II, a replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims to the New World. Continue to Boston’s Logan Int’l Airport. Passengers may also be dropped at downtown Boston hotels.
